The Berry family of cannabis strains is among some of the tastiest and most potent varieties in the world, with most hybrids stemming from Blueberry – a high-performance, Indica-dominant cannabis strain which gained popularity in the 1970s and has had a firm place in the heart of cannabis users ever since.
Resulting as a cross between three powerful landrace strains, Afghani, Thai and Purple Thai, Blueberry doesn’t fail to impress with her strong genetic lineage. This helps her produce heavy yields of dense, sticky cannabis from a plant whose final height is manageable enough to be readily be grown indoors.
Blueberry: Short and Sweet
Originally developed by DJ Short, Blueberry has since been released by a range of different seedbanks, each attempting to emulate the original, including Dutch Passion Seeds and Crop Kings Seeds, and, more recently, Berry hybrids have been extremely popular. Strains such as Berry Delight by GreenLabel came about as a cross between Northern Lights and Blueberry and can bring in as much as 450 g/m2 of dense buds with a sweet, fruity taste in less than 8 weeks of flowering. Growing Berry strains is straightforward as they aren’t very picky with nutrient and stress levels meaning you can train them to be smaller yet more fruitful. Topping and fimming are two very effective ways to both reduce the height and produce multiple main buds.
