Stardawg Auto Grow Diary and Strain Review

This run was about 2 Stardawg Auto plants from Fast Buds. I’ve heard growers complain about this breeder before, but my own experience with their seeds has been clean: good germination, normal development, and finished flowers that matched the description well enough.

The seeds started in paper towels after a 12h soak. Both cracked fast, and after another day the taproots were about 1cm (0.4in) long. I planted them into prepared coco in 5l (1.3gal) pots, after wetting the medium with BioEnhancer and a light nutrient solution at 400ppm.

Starting the Run

Week 1

The pots went into a 60x60x140cm (23.6x23.6x55.1in) tent. I kept the light on 18/6, with daytime temperature around 30°C (86°F), nights near 25°C (77°F), and pH around 5.5.

That first week was mostly about letting the seedlings settle. The coco had already been charged lightly, so I didn’t need to push anything. The main thing was keeping the pots from drying too hard while the roots were still small.

Week 2

By the second week, both plants looked alive and steady. There was no reason to interfere much, which was exactly what I wanted from this kind of auto run.

The setup stayed simple. I watched the young growth, kept the feed light, and let Stardawg build enough root and leaf mass before doing anything more serious.

Veg Progress and Training

Week 3

The plants had started moving better by week 3. The pots were still compact enough to handle easily, and the coco routine felt predictable.

At this point, I didn’t see anything that looked like a real problem. The plants weren’t asking for dramatic corrections, so I kept the grow in the same quiet direction.

Week 4

Week 4 brought a stronger stretch than I expected. Stardawg Auto started reaching up, and keeping the canopy under control took more attention than during the first part of veg.

I didn’t want to overtrain them, but I also didn’t want the tops running straight into the light. A little shaping was enough to keep the structure usable without turning the grow into a constant fight.

The Flip and Early Flower

Week 5-6

By weeks 5 and 6, the plants were clearly in flower. Day temperature was around 27°C (80.6°F), nights dropped to about 20°C (68°F), and the plants were roughly 20cm (7.9in) tall.

The buds started forming properly, and resin became easier to notice. I liked that the plants didn’t look fussy here. They moved into flowering without the kind of weird pause that sometimes happens when autos are stressed early.

The structure stayed manageable after the earlier stretch. It wasn’t the flattest canopy, but it made sense for a small tent and two compact autos.

Week 7-8

During this stretch, I focused on keeping the finish clean. The plants were already past the point where I wanted to push them with heavy changes.

I used a flush and kept only the shaping that was really needed. The buds had enough form by now, so the goal was simply to keep the plants comfortable while they ripened.

Late Flower and Finish

Week 9

The last week was calm. Stardawg Auto didn’t throw any serious problems at the end, and that made the run feel easier than a lot of autos I’ve seen.

By harvest time, both plants looked ready enough for me. The flowers had finished well for the space, and the whole grow stayed pretty straightforward from seed to chop.

Stardawg Auto left me with a good impression. The grow didn’t need much rescuing, and I’d honestly call it a simple auto for someone who already understands the basics of watering and feed strength.

The finished aroma leaned herbal, with a spicy note behind it. The smoke didn’t feel flat either. First came a strong sativa-like lift, and later it eased into a softer indica body stone.

I liked the result a lot. It wasn’t a complicated run, and that was part of the appeal. For me, Stardawg Auto showed itself as a reliable Fast Buds strain that can finish without making the grower chase problems every week.
