Keepers OG Autoflower Grow Diary and Strain Review

Last updated: 8 June 2026

Grow diary hero

This run with Keepers OG Autoflower from Seedkeepers was my attempt to keep things simple. I wanted to see whether a plant really needs a shelf full of additives and constant tinkering, or whether a basic routine can still bring a serious result.

The plant was grown indoors with a simple feeding plan based around pH Perfect Grow, Micro and Bloom, plus Cal-Mag Plus. I also kept my usual light rhythm: 18/6 during veg and 12/12 once flowering was coming in. Nothing exotic, just a steady room and enough attention to react when the plant asked for it.

Starting the Run

Week 1

The first week was more about settling into the run than chasing any big moves. I kept the routine plain and let Keepers OG Autoflower establish itself under 18/6 light. From the start, my idea was not to overload the plant with stimulators or extra bottles unless there was a clear reason.

I’ve grown both photoperiods and autos under the same basic schedule before, so I didn’t see a reason to change it here. The plan was simple: veg under 18/6, then move to 12/12 for flower and let the plant do most of the work.

Week 2

By the second week, Keepers OG had already made me pay attention. Growth was quick enough that I could see a difference almost every day after work, and the lower fan leaves were already huge.

At the end of the week, I gave the first full watering with 3l (0.8gal) of solution: 5ml pH Perfect Grow, 5ml pH Perfect Micro, 5ml pH Perfect Bloom and 2ml Cal-Mag Plus. The plant took it well and didn’t show any reason to back off.

Veg Progress and Training

Week 3

The big lower leaves were already blocking too much light, so I removed them and put a net just above the top of the plant. With the way Keepers OG was moving, I didn’t want the canopy height to get away from me.

This was also when I started guiding the branches more deliberately. Nothing harsh at this point, just careful spreading so the lower growth could catch up. Feeding went up a little too, with 7ml each of pH Perfect Grow, Micro and Bloom, plus 4ml Cal-Mag Plus.

Week 4

The response to defoliation was better than I expected. Once those big leaves were gone, the side shoots started pushing hard and almost caught the main stem. The plant looked like it wanted to become a flat, wide canopy rather than one dominant top.

This was the last veg week for this run. I lowered the light a little, switched the schedule to 12/12, and raised the feed again. By the end of the week, the mix was 11ml pH Perfect Grow, 11ml pH Perfect Micro, 11ml pH Perfect Bloom and 4ml Cal-Mag Plus. I normally feed with every watering, saving plain water only for rare cases like salt buildup or nutrient burn.

Week 5

Since flowering still hadn’t started, I decided topping made sense. It felt like the right moment to work the canopy harder, so I cut the main top and kept adjusting the branches under the net day by day.

Five days later, the top had split cleanly and the new growth settled nicely to both sides of the center. The plant started taking its final shape, and I continued raising the solution: 14ml each of pH Perfect Grow, Micro and Bloom, with 6ml Cal-Mag Plus.

Week 6

Keepers OG still looked comfortable after the topping and net work. The structure became flatter, and the branches filled the space in a way that made the earlier training feel worth it.

I pushed the feed a bit further this week. The mix reached 16ml each of pH Perfect Grow, Micro and Bloom, plus 6ml Cal-Mag Plus. The plant didn’t complain, so I stayed with the same basic approach instead of adding extra products just for the sake of it.

Early Flower

Week 7

Flowering started this week and came in at a good pace. Keepers OG didn’t stall after the training, which was the main thing I wanted to see. Even after fairly active canopy work, the plant kept moving forward.

The early flowers began forming across the net, and the overall shape still looked manageable. For an autoflower that had been topped and trained, it handled the pressure better than many growers would probably expect.

Week 8

From this point, height gain was mostly about the buds themselves getting bigger. The smell inside the box became much stronger too, leaning toward overripe fruit, lemon and hash.

The plant still didn’t look like it was missing any fancy stimulators. I kept the environment comfortable and stayed with the same feeding logic. That was the whole point of the run, and at this stage it was hard to argue with the result.

Week 9

The buds were still small, but resin was already easy to see. This was the week when I became fully convinced that Keepers OG Autoflower had real potential.

The smell was strong enough that I wouldn’t grow this one without a carbon filter. I kept watering with the nutrient mix every couple of days, judging the timing by the state of the substrate rather than by a fixed calendar.

Late Flower and Finish

Week 10

Keepers OG kept moving toward harvest at its own pace. It wasn’t a sudden finish, more like steady ripening with no need to rush.

My guess at this point was that it still had at least 2-3 weeks left, maybe more. The plant looked healthy enough to wait, so I decided to let the trichomes make the final call.

Week 11

The buds kept getting thicker and became seriously sticky. Touching them meant getting resin on my fingers, and the smell was already heavy in the room.

The trichomes weren’t ready yet, though. There were plenty of them, but they were still clear rather than cloudy. That made the decision easy: keep waiting and don’t cut early.

Week 13

I had to leave town for about a week, and when I came back, Keepers OG looked noticeably older. The leaves were yellowing, and the trichomes had finally started turning milky. On some branches, most of them were already cloudy.

That was my signal to start easing the plant down toward harvest. I reduced the feed to 7ml pH Perfect Grow, 7ml pH Perfect Micro, 7ml pH Perfect Bloom and 3ml Cal-Mag Plus, then watched how the plant finished the last stretch.

Week 14

This week was the finish line. The first watering was lighter again: 4ml pH Perfect Grow, 4ml pH Perfect Micro, 4ml pH Perfect Bloom and 1.5ml Cal-Mag Plus. The second watering was plain water with no additives.

After that, I harvested the plant. The full cycle from sprout to chop took 14 weeks, which was longer than the catalog timing, but not strange for an autoflower that went through topping, net work and plenty of shaping.

Keepers OG Autoflower Yield and Final Thoughts

After drying and trimming, the final result was 204g (7.2oz) of clean dry buds. For a box smaller than half a square meter, that felt like a very solid finish, especially with such a simple feeding approach.

The buds came out compact and strong, with a smell of overripe berries. Resin coverage was heavy enough that I’d put this Keepers OG close to some very sticky genetics I’ve grown before.

The effect felt powerful and hybrid, with a slight indica lean. With some tolerance, it could work at different times of day, but without that buffer I’d keep it for the evening. It can hit the legs harder than expected.

My main takeaway is that Keepers OG Autoflower handled training well and didn’t need an overcomplicated routine to produce. The plant still needed attention, but not constant fussing. For this run, basic care at the right time did more than enough.
