Fast Bud Auto: Rapid Growth

Fast Bud Auto was developed by Sweet Seeds as one of the quickest autoflowers in their catalogue. While fast, this strain does not compromise on quality and delivers heavy yields of tall, dense, aromatic flowers dripping with resin in lightning fast times!

A strain with Diesel origins, Fast Bud Auto leaves very little to be desired: a compact plant with multiple branches and many bud sites. This strain was designed to be fast; she yields between 400 – 500 g/m2 of large, resinous buds in a short 7.5 weeks from germination making this the perfect cash crop! While this strain is best grown indoors, it thrives in outdoor gardens too. Like most autoflowers, she prefers a minimum amount of nutrients so limited feeding to half the recommended strength. Here is some further information to help you grow this strain:

  • Short plant – depending on phenotype, this strain reaches a final height between 40 – 90 cm indoors and slightly taller outdoors.
  • Max EC of water – 1.0 in veg, up to 1.2 during flower.
  • Water pH; 5.8 – 6.0.
  • Recommended lighting: 600 W LED.
  • Recommended grow style: SoG due to a short height and apical dominance.

Sweet, Aromatic Resin – Perfect for Extracts!

Fast Bud Auto grows with a very typical Indica structure with slightly taller branches with longer internodal distance. This results in flowers with a high bud-to-leaf ratio and a sweet aroma with hints of spice. Fans of aromatic, resin-coated buds will be more than pleased with this strain.

This particular genetic strain is my second attempt at growing it. This time, I decided to try indoor cultivation, aiming to complete the entire cycle using only water. The flavor of this strain is unique and difficult to describe, while the aroma seems to dissipate during the drying process. However, I did encounter an abundance of pollen. During the first three weeks of flowering, I provided light from the vegetative stage, which had some interesting consequences that I should mention, not to mention the pruning I performed in the third week of vegetative growth.

Easy to grow, resistant to pests, handled by Nutes like a pro. No problems to report, it grew all by itself.

    • Advantages
The yield was very respectable for an autoflowering strain. A little over 122 grams of dried and trimmed flowers. The bud structure allows for some of the easiest trimming you'll ever experience. The smoke is quite smooth even when uncured, a sign of good flushing, and the clean, white ash further confirmed this. I wasn't expecting such a potent smoke. I have a pretty good tolerance, and at first, it didn't seem that strong, but after a while, or after your second or third joint, my face started to melt. I went to grab a snack. My body felt heavy and lethargic, like I had to ask permission from my other leg every time I wanted to take a step. Shortly after eating, it was all she wrote: nap time!

Overall, and considering the harsh summer, I'm very satisfied with this strain's performance. Good potency, aroma/flavor. The effects are mostly physical, a pure cough, really. Good results and very easy to grow. I would recommend this fine genetic product.

This plant surprised me a lot and is different from others. There seems to be a different logic to its growth. The yield was spectacular for an autoflowering plant, at 710g wet. The aroma is intense and fruity. The taste is already spicier, leaving a bit of a kick in the mouth. The effects are relaxing and very pleasant... if it continues like this after sunbathing, it will be a real treat...

Let's talk about the plant... the tops are beautiful, full, and hard, while the smaller ones at the bottom are very light; I had to cut them off first. The plant, as we were saying, is very different from any I've grown before... thousands of tiny leaves surrounded the tops. I was convinced there were few trichomes, but cutting the leaves below reminded me of a meadow... so I must say, I have an excellent yield... I'll conclude with the very distinctive and VERY GOOD aroma that filled the room...

As a novice grower, I have mixed feelings about this strain. Growing it was easy, despite a few hot days followed by torrential rain. However, it took four weeks longer than the advertised seven and yielded only 150g. The following likely contributed to the reduced yield: planting it in the same 22-liter pot as a bean and tomato plant, and having to cover it for the last three weeks for safety reasons, thus limiting the amount of sunlight it received. There was, however, the pleasant surprise of a second harvest of 1g dry bud, even stickier than the first.
