Kosher Kush Seed Info

These cannabis seeds are a Dutch version of Kosher Kush, an Indica from the West Coast of the United States. Allegedly, Kosher Kush’s history begins in Los Angeles, where members of the city’s young Jewish community developed a cannabis plant jokingly referred to as “Jew Gold”. While what happened next is a bit unclear, we know that this so-called Jew Gold formed the origins of what would later become Kosher Kush.

Effects

Kosher Kush’s effects are sometimes described as cosmic harmony, and for good reason! The effects are strong and long-lasting – at first euphoric and cerebral, and then transitioning into relaxing, calming, and sleepy.

THC Levels

With a THC content of 19%, Kosher Kush is fairly potent without being overwhelming, making her a good choice for everyone, including novices.

Smell And Taste

The terpene profile for Kosher Kush emphasizes very forest-like aromas and flavors. These are extremely strong and pungent – earthy and woody with piney undertones. As a result, you may want to invest in a carbon filter.

Grow Tips

Unusually for an almost pure Indica, if given enough root space and vegetation time, Kosher Kush can easily grow to a very tall height. Aside from being taller than most Indicas, all her other characteristics are typical of an Indica/Kush. She can take any type of training you throw at her and likes a bit more nutrients than usually recommended.

  • This strain prefers dry and warm climates, so a dehumidifier might come in handy.
  • The plant will double in size during flowering, so have some spare space before switching to 12/12.
  • It’s suitable for both indoor and outdoor grows.

Flowering Time

Kosher Kush has a flowering time of 63-70 days, which is about in line with other plants of her type. If growing outside, expect her to finish in mid-October.

Yields

You’ll get some pretty good harvests with Kosher Kush, and most indoor growers average yields of about 450-550g/m² (1.47-1.8oz/ft2).

Bag call: It'll only be in jars, but it's icy cold like a snowman! It almost looks like snow on top of the plant! Smell: Very similar to Guardian OG18 phenos. Maybe a little more piney, but very pungent! I think there's also a fuel smell in there, but it's hard to label the odor. Taste: Exactly like the smell. The taste of these is right up there with my favorite OG18 pheno. If you like a long-lasting taste, then this is for you. Effect: The effect on these is immediate and long-lasting. It will definitely have you sitting in your chair or putting you on the couch. If you only take one or two hits, you might get motivated, and you'll find that 2-3 hours go by pretty quickly. If you smoke a few bowls, you might as well chill with some chips and soda because you're not going to do much. Two hits of bong and I'm headed for a nap, but one hit of bong and I'm playing guitar or Battlefield 3 on high. Stress relief (any dose). Upset stomach/nausea (any dose). Final thoughts: This strain was super easy to grow. It required very little attention and didn't need that many nutrients either. I'd say if you like Kush, you'll like Kosher Kush. Potent, beautiful, and easy to grow, this combination is a winner in my book.

Growth report: I struggled with this one, but I was able to easily repair a branch that broke at the main node. I'll rate the overall quality of this crop as an A yield: 15.8 oz. or 448 grams, very good density, about as hard as I can grow them in a greenhouse. Pot aroma: Herbal, earthy, musky, kushy kushy, a hint of sweetness, dill? Something reminds me of a Jewish grocery store, maybe it's just the name messing with my head. Whatever it is, I like it. I'm a fan of earthy-smelling stuff... that's why I grow in the ground.

Smoke log: 10:08 AM - big hit 10:10 AM - coming 10:13 AM - strong high, big body buzz, still not clear where it's going, up or down? Audio improvement. 10:15 AM - Brain relaxed, I think. Body feels loose. 10:19 AM - Medium/high euphoria. My eyes are red! 10:20 AM - Hard stone but fairly clean, functional with some focus. Extremities feel light. 10:25 AM - High more relaxed than high, but has a bit of that. Hitting good notes, from very wide depth to treble. 10:28 AM - The 20-minute buzz is phenomenal, biased? Strong hello seems legitimate. Need an outside opinion. 10:31 AM - My eyes are red! Moving feels like sinking. Creative thoughts. Not anymore. High still evolving. 10:34 AM - Heart rate is elevated but relaxing. Good motivation but also a good foundation. Opposite ends of the spectrum. 10:39 - Feeling good all over, body and mind. No anxiety. 10:47 - Winning strain - very good stuff. Some occasional off-putting? Maybe. 10:53 - Meditation properties, no force release. 11:05 - Leg sway/movement. 11:30 - Still high. I love growing Cannabis Cup winners! So my overall rating for this strain is a 9 or 10 out of 10. I'm writing a 10 in my personal journal.

This is a strain anyone suffering from pain should have in their garden. The stretching can be extreme, but with early topping, it's well controlled. I have the typical eucalyptus/mint/musk phenotype. It formed ultra-dense, stringy buds from the tip of each stem to the base, with very little empty space. This resulted in some of the best yields I've ever had per plant. I harvested when the trichomes were 90% cloudy, 5% amber, and 5% clear. I took samples with no amber and with 20% amber; the THC was at its peak with an almost complete cloud of light as soon as you see the first amber. As for potency, this is next level. I have extreme back pain and arthritis issues, and I get instant and substantial relief from the very first twinge. I really wanted to emphasize how dense these buds are. Some of my friends thought it was moon rocks :) I grew it completely organically and it never burned, it depleted the soil perfectly. At the end of flowering, it takes on a very pretty faded yellow and purple hue on the leaves. I harvested it around 62-65 days of flowering, and it seemed to react very well to low temperatures. During a heat wave, it tolerated 90s with few adverse effects. All things considered, it's in the top 5 of the more than 30 varieties I've grown!
