Lemon Kush Strain Info

Lemon Kush is an Indica-dominant hybrid that was created to amplify the many appealing traits of its parents – specifically, its unique citrus aroma and equally strong lip-puckering flavor. This weed earned a place of honor on the Dutch medical cannabis scene in the 1990s and is highly recommended for aspiring growers because it’s easy to cultivate both indoors and outdoors.

Genetics

The exact origin of Lemon Kush is something the cannabis community cannot come to an agreement on. The most common version of the story is that Lemon Kush is the result of crossbreeding Lemon G – a Sativa-dominant hybrid hailing from the U.S. Midwest – and Master Kush, a classic Dutch hybrid that has given its genetics to many modern Kushes. The genetic lineage of Lemon Kush also includes Afghani and South American landraces.

Flowering Time

A very short indoor flowering period is just one of many amazing traits that Lemon Kush offers – the plants reach full maturity in just 56-63 days from the moment you induce flowering. Outdoor plants will take until mid-October to be ready for harvest.

Yields

Like a true Indica, Lemon Kush grows to a low-to-medium height, producing dense branches covered with heavy resinous buds. Equally suitable for indoor and outdoor grows, it can yield up to 1.6-1.9 oz/ft2 (500-600 g/m2) and 1.3-1.5 lb (600-700 g) per plant respectively.

Effects

Even though it’s Indica-dominant, Lemon Kush effects start with a happy Sativa high that boosts mood and energy levels. Soon after, the uplifting cerebral effects give way to an Indica high, transitioning into a calming and relaxing sensation in the body that will make you want to crawl up the stairs and into bed.

Medical Properties

The uplifting Sativa effects are ideal for alleviating stress, anxiety, depression, and related symptoms. In moderate-to-high doses, this weed can also be used to treat muscle spasms, headaches, migraines, and minor chronic pains.

THC and CBD Levels

Lemon Kush can take even seasoned smokers off guard with its effects, given that the THC content usually tests at 25-27% and there’s too little CBD to mellow out its potency.

Smell and Taste

These tight and dense buds give off that unmistakable musky and earthy smell that Kush is known for, with hints of pine and lemon present in the background. On the first inhale, you’ll feel an explosion of spicy and citrusy flavors that will make you salivate.

Grow Tips

Lemon Kush is very easy to grow and suits both newbies and experts. Due to its Indica genes, the plants don’t exceed ~5 feet (150 cm) in height. When grown outdoors, this weed thrives in warm, Mediterranean-like climates with plenty of sunlight.

  • If you want to bring out the rich lemon fragrance and boost potency, add compost to your soil.
  • The plants grow bushy and might need some trimming for the sunlight and water to get to the lower branches.
  • Lemon Kush handles humidity levels of up to 80% in the seedling stage. You can lower the RH to 65-70% during veg.

The Lemon Kush I grew was an easygoing plant. Didn’t get too big, and I was able to harvest it pretty quickly.
The flavor was pretty good – lemony with a bit of spice. It wasn’t too strong, but it was just what I needed for some relaxing downtime.

I had to put a little work into this one, but the result was worth it. It didn’t grow too tall but did get pretty bushy. I got around 1.5 pounds from one plant. The lemon flavor is definitely there 🍋, and the body high helps with my stress at the end of the day 🛋️.

This Lemon Kush took a little while to hit its full potential, but once it did, it was great. It didn’t stretch too tall, and the yield was solid at around 540g/m2. The citrusy flavor is refreshing, and the high is a nice balance of head and body effects.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting too much from Lemon Kush, but it surprised me. It’s a chill grow, stays around 4 feet tall. Got a solid yield of about 600g per plant. The lemon flavor is refreshing, but not overpowering. The high is relaxing, good for after a long day.

Lemon Kush was a pretty low-maintenance plant. I didn’t have to trim it much, and it finished up in a little over 8 weeks. Yield wasn’t huge, but it wasn’t bad either. The taste is citrusy , and it gives a nice, balanced high.

Lemon Kush gave me a decent yield, about 1.2 pounds. The plant was small and bushy, and I didn’t have to trim it much. The lemon taste is really strong, but the earthy Kush undertones balance it out. The high is solid but not too intense, perfect for winding down at night.

This strain was a pretty easy grow, even in my less-than-ideal conditions. It didn’t stretch too tall, which worked well for me. I got around 500g/m2, which is decent for the space I had. The taste was a bit more on the piney side, and the body high was nice and mellow.

Grew this strain indoors and it was pretty easy to manage. The plant was low, so I didn’t have to worry much about height. The buds were dense, and the flavor was a solid mix of lemon and pine
