Terp Sauce: Discovering Potent And Flavorful Liquid Gold
The cannabis concentrate market is the fastest growing area of retail weed, and within the realm of concentrates, one in particular, has been getting a lot of attention: terp sauce. So today, we’re looking at how to make terp sauce, or HTFSE (High Terpene Full Spectrum Extract), and why it should be in your next stash purchase.
Is Terp Sauce A Concentrate?
Terp sauce, terp jelly, sauce wax – whatever you call it – is a concentrate of cannabis terpenes, which are flavor and smell compounds naturally produced by the plant. While other concentrates typically lose most of their terpene content through the production process, terp sauce is created in a way that allows all the properties of the cannabis plant to be extracted, meaning consumers can enjoy not only the strong effects of concentrates but also the aroma and taste of the original flower as well.
Are Terpenes That Important?
While the above may sound worth it just for the pleasure of beautifully-smelling and tasting concentrates, terpenes have a range of physiological effects on the human body as well, which are a large part of the medical benefit of cannabis. Because we each react slightly differently to each terpene, by trialing different products, consumers can find an HTFSE with a terpene profile that’s tailored to their needs.
How Is It Made?
Unlike most concentrates, terp sauce is made using live cannabis material that has been frozen to preserve the delicate resin and terpene glands of the plant. From there, the full range of cannabinoids and terpenes are extracted together through a pressurization process, typically using butane. Once the raw extract has been collected, it’s left at a stable temperature until the THCA and other cannabinoids crystallize, further separating from the terp sauce, which is left behind as a thick liquid and is now classified as HTFSE (high-terpene full spectrum extract). The crystals, which are the sister product of terp sauce, are known as HCFSE (high-cannabinoid full spectrum extract). Combine the two and you get a very powerful product, sometimes sold as diamond sauce THC.

How Should I Consume Terp Sauce?
If you’ve ever seen terp sauce – a yellow, jelly-like substance – you might be wondering exactly how you go about consuming it. But don’t worry, that's the easy part!
Terp sauce can be consumed straight from a traditional dab rig, as it’s a form of cannabis concentrate. If you don’t have access to a dab rig, it’s possible to consume terp sauce in other ways, such as lining your rolling paper with it before you roll a joint, or sandwiching the sauce between two layers of weed in a bong.
Terp Sauce Is Potent: Be Safe, Not Sorry
Although terp sauce is a lot of fun, it’s important to remember that this is still a very pure cannabis concentrate and can therefore have strong effects, particularly if taken in high doses or you have a low tolerance. To avoid any adverse reaction, it’s always better to be safe than sorry, and dose in small amounts until you’re sure of the strength and how you will react to it.

Is Terp Sauce For Me?
It’s always good to change things up in life, even the way you consume your weed. So if terp sauce is available to you, why not give it a go? It’s a beautiful way of consuming cannabis, as it has the flavor and aroma of raw cannabis flower while still packing the punch of ultra-pure concentrates. In other words, it’s the best of both worlds!
