Californian Orange is a 50% Sativa-50% Indica hybrid with its heritage partly shrouded in mystery. Growing Californian Orange is an easy job. Thriving indoor and in greenhouses, this strain is suitable for the outdoors environment as well. The low difficulty of the growing process also comes from the attributes inherited from the Sativa and Indica genes, providing her with enough resistance for a satisfactory development. Because of the medium height of the scheme, it adapts well to indoor environments, yielding around 400 g/m2. The blooming phase takes 9 weeks and, if grown outdoors, harvest time should be scheduled by the end of October. The terpenes levels are high and able to surround us with a strong orange smell.

  • Grow difficulty: Medium. Prefers hot and mild climates.
  • Lights: Led 300 W Vegetation/HID 400 W Flowering.
  • Pot size: >12 L for optimized yield.
  • Climate: Hot/Mild.
  • Fertilization: Average fertilization with pH control.
  • THC levels: 22-26%.

The Finest Orange Taste From Californian Genetics

Californian Orange smells and tastes like a freshly peeled orange. Its citrus flavor is strong and able to satisfy the demands of connoisseur palates. It makes a euphoric, uplifting and sociable high, reminiscent of the Sativas old-school. Well-suited for the day time, it transports the mind to a euphoric state with no trace of a couchlock effect.

The strain showed an average yield, and the effect didn't impress me too much either. But the rich, pleasant orange flavor makes it a real delight.

Despite this being a hybrid of indica and sativa, it grows rather tall. Develops like pure sativa. My plant grew up to 3 m

    • Advantages
Taste and aroma are the main features of this strain. Very clear. Bravo to Dutch for terpenes profile genetics
    • Disadvantages

Photo is a photo. Not overly yielding, not overly potent. Gets stressed as all of them, requires care and attention. But for this aroma I can forgive everything. Smells like orange peel with pepper and cinnamon

Productive, resistant, tasty, with a great effect.
    • Disadvantages
      Prone to mold.
    • General impressions

I risked growing the plant in the greenhouse, and it grew all the way to the ceiling and hit it. And around the spot where the plant touched the glass, mold eventually appeared. So I can't say it's invincible to mold. But considering the damaged buds, I still got 500g in total and 150g of dry product. Pretty decent power.

Fast shipping. 100% seed germination. 3 lush bushes, the tops of which turned orange towards the end. Orange hairs, yellow-orange leaves. The aroma was out of this world. It's hard to describe, but the smell of fresh oranges was quite distinct. The buds are good in potency, but the high is more indica. In my experience, however, this effect seems to be characteristic of all fruit, berry, and citrus genetics, such as blackberry or blueberry, Californian orange is no exception. Growing wasn't difficult. Conditions maintained for indica, humidity monitored. I had a lot of foliage, thinned out a little about 4 times. I grew 3 plants in 12L bags. They weren't too tall, less than a meter. I used organic because I don't use anything else, as I prefer completely organic products without salts in the buds. The effect is pleasant, more relaxing, as I mentioned earlier. It probably won't be possible to stay active, but it would be nice to chat or laugh with a group of friends. It's easy. But if you already feel some physical fatigue, you can go straight to bed after half an hour - it will relax you and put you to sleep.

Perfect for indoor growing and SCROG. The colas are as rich as oranges. An optimal combination of indica and sativa, taking the best of both, ensures good yields, resilience, flowering speed, and a balanced effect, without drowsiness or drowsiness. I liked it. Pleasant aroma with distinct citrus notes—its special feature, few strains are as tasty.

    • General impressions

Amazing strain, very orange. Not big, not the most generous, not the most potent. But a great option for indoor growing. No strong smell and the buds are fresh after curing. Preferably vaporizer, to fully enjoy all the qualities. The trip is more like a high, does not trigger too strongly, does not cause nausea, headaches or anxiety. Motivating, helps generate ideas and puts a smile on your face :)

The world makes me feel like a child again, so big and so bright. I felt like taking a long, aimless walk, and the pouring rain didn't seem like an obstacle. Communication didn't seem necessary. I had no desire to disturb passersby, just to walk and enjoy the views and scenery. In short, a delicious stress reliever.

    • Advantages
Lively and social effect. Relieves headaches. Generally not difficult to cultivate.
    • Disadvantages
Prone to stress, but recovers well. Good recovery can actually add to the benefits.
    • General impressions

A cool and positive strain in many ways. I wouldn't say it doesn't stress at all, but it recovers quite well, its development stops slightly. It responds very well to bending and light. I didn't have any mold problems, but this is rather due to the conditions I provided it, as I didn't want to subject it to a complete survival test. The flowering is lush, the aroma is wonderful, refreshing. To me, it resembles mulled wine spiced with orange peel. The finished buds just smell of citrus. A lively and positive effect. All shyness and insecurity disappear. But thirst and hunger are no joke. I really wanted beer, I couldn't help myself and drank it.

You get it, right? I couldn't pass it up. And it was worth it. I ordered more; I'm saving a whole box just for the California orange. I love oranges; it's the perfect scent for me. And it's so pure here, and the effect is spot on—refreshing, invigorating, and joyful, giving a vacation feeling.

    • Advantages
Legendary genetics, taste and aroma. Balanced effect of medium potency.
    • Disadvantages
Phenotype. Out of 5 seeds, 3 plants are more sativa and 2 more indica
    • General impressions

Everything seems fine, but there's a phenotype. They all grow well, even flowering and ripening simultaneously. But there's a difference in the final product. Sativa buds always have a more earthy, skunky taste, and indicas have more of an earthy-orange flavor. It's average for me in terms of potency; I'm more used to something harder. These just don't hit hard enough. Overall, I think it's worth a try, especially since the genetics are legendary, which they at least tried to leave unchanged, but I'm not so sure.

California Orange has mixed feelings for me because my first crop of it became hermaphroditic. And now it's growing and beautiful. Its effect is incredible, it's becoming one of my favorite strains! Deep thoughts! Talkative! Laughing! Flying! I love it, very fun!

Hey guys. This girl was the tallest. She was 1.5m tall. She was also easy to grow, but when 7 weeks of flowering came around, she started producing foxtails or something. You can see it in the pictures, those white guns. And I also saw that some seeds are starting to appear. Team Plagron! I use the seaweed flower first for my flowers, and I have to say, these nuts are perfect.

    • Advantages
This is my first culture 😊
    • Disadvantages
      I made rookie mistakes
    • General impressions

My first grow. I'm using a 1m² grow box with a 400W HPS with a digital ballast that's supposed to be 10% more efficient than a standard magnetic ballast. After six weeks of flowering, I added LEDs (Bloomed X135) which seemed to work well. (I'm considering going all LED, but you have to spread the investment out over time...). 24 days of veg and coming up on day 70 on 12/12. Cannabio soil and nutrient program. A Plagron booster added in the flowering stage. I probably made a few rookie mistakes during the grow (overwatering at one point, adding nutes too often at another, letting the box peak at 33.1C° at another). It seemed like a long time before the real flowers started to grow after the switch to 12/12. Still, these ladies seem to be doing well, despite my efforts to the contrary. I FIMed two of them, letting the third grow freely. The stretch was incredible (+100%). The un-FIMed of these is 190cm (about 6'5"). The others follow closely at 170cm. I pruned the lower fan leaves continuously, for airflow and convenience when watering. Some say yes, some say no. So I did.
