It got its name after the sharp and pungent stench of cured cheese. Genetics

The Cheese family tree includes such legendary weed as Skunk #1, White Widow, and landrace Afghani genetics. Its origin story starts with Californian cultivator Sam the Skunkman, who many credit as the original breeder of Skunk #1, and who brought his creation to the Netherlands in the ‘80s to continue his work in peace.

Skunk #1 became popular among Dutch breeders, but the recurring problem was the very strong smell it gave off. An unknown cultivator in South East England grew a pack of Skunk #1 seeds and found that one of them had a distinctly cheesy aroma that was unlike anything these breeders had seen before. This phenotype was quickly cloned and became an instant classic.

As a 65% Indica, Cheese won’t make you wait too long to harvest your buds – its indoor flowering time stands at just 53-60 days. When grown in an outdoor environment, plants reach full maturity in mid-October.

Growers can expect rapid growth from their plants during the flowering period and really impressive results once they’re ready for harvest. When given proper care, Cheese yields up to 1.9-2.1 oz/ft² (600-650 g/m²) indoors, while outdoors, growers can get between 1.8-1.9 lb (800-850 g) per plant.
