I just ordered a few seeds, Auto flowering seeds. I've been growing outside for the past two years. But this year being legal in Ohio everyone thinks they can throw seeds in the ground and grow like it's a vegetable. My plant this year turned into a hermaphrodite and full of seeds. So I ordered the seeds from Herbie seed my first time and I'm gonna try growing indoors over the winter. I chose the auto flowering seeds cuz I want to see if they really do have a life cycle of 30-60 days. I'm counting on BIG BUDS and Christmas buds. I'll post pictures of how I do. Hopefully they'll be as great as the pictures look. Thanks for your company being there for us enthusiasts of great looking buds

Half of my seeds either didn't pop or died before roots established in rooter. I paid $15 for one seed and was really looking forward to trying the Blackberry Moon Rock Only to have it die in the rooter. I'm out .Moving to a company that has a viable product

Got Leftover Stems? Here’s How To Brew Tea With Them

Last updated: 9 April 2020

weed stem tea

Although weed tea might sound like the latest hype product coming out of the legalized cannabis market, it’s actually one of the oldest forms of cannabis consumption out there. Even better, cannabis tea can be easily made at home using weed stems – the byproduct that would otherwise go to waste. Continue reading to learn about all of the benefits of marijuana stem tea and get some helpful tips on brewing it at home.

What’s The Deal With Cannabis Tea?

We all know what regular tea is, but tea with cannabis? Weed stem tea is made using the regular tea brewing technique to extract the beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes from leftover weed stems, turning it into a delicious and healthy way to enjoy the effects of cannabis.

Why Should You Brew Cannabis Stem Tea?

There’s something beautifully simple and resourceful about serving up a weed brew. Not only are you utilizing an often wasted resource, but you also get to experience the amazing calming and sedative effects of this more relaxed way of consuming cannabis.

What Are The Health Benefits Of Cannabis Stem Tea?

Weed tea is also great for your physical health. Drinking your cannabis instead of smoking it will help your lungs, calm your nerves and even improve your skin condition! This is all because weed stem tea extracts have the full range of cannabinoids and antioxidants stored within the cannabis plant, which makes cannabis stem tea a whole plant extract – several times more beneficial for the body than consuming isolated compounds.

Binding Agent: Why Add Fat Or Alcohol To Your Weed Tea?

For weed stem tea to be effective, you need to extract the THC and other chemicals from the plant matter. Because cannabinoids are not water-soluble, boiling weed stems in water alone won’t do anything if you want to feel some psychoactive effects. Instead, we introduce a binding agent, which bonds to the cannabinoids and extracts them from the stem. For cannabinoids, the best binding agents are either fatty liquids and oils (e.g. full fat milk, butter, coconut oil) or high strength alcohol (around 40%). Choose one to use in your tea.

What You’ll Need To Make Cannabis Stem Tea

Besides a sufficient amount of weed stems that need to be collected beforehand, ingredients and equipment for making this tea are easily found in every home. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Weed stems – how many grams of stems you need to make the tea depends on your tolerance, but I recommend a minimum of ¼ cup per person. Remember though, the more you have, the stronger it will be!
  • Water – 2 cups per person
  • Binding agent of your choice (oil or alcohol) – 2 tablespoons per person
  • Flavoring – other regular or herbal teas add great additional flavor
  • Sweetener – if you’ve got a sweet tooth, add some of your regular sweetener as well

You’ll also need some everyday equipment that you probably have around the house:

  • Saucepan
  • Filter – if you have a coffee filter or cheesecloth available, use that. If not, just use a very clean tea towel or cloth.
  • String

Making Cannabis Stem Tea: A Step-By-Step Guide

Even if you’re not a star in the kitchen, our marijuana stem tea recipe is a simple process and only takes about 20 minutes. And although boiling weed stem does smell a bit, it’s nowhere near as strong as making weed butter, so your cover shouldn’t be blown!

Step 2: Boil The Water

Pour the water into the saucepan and put it on high heat until boiling. If you’re using a fat such as milk or butter, add it now.

Step 3: Add Weed Stems To Water

When the water is boiling, it’s time to boil your weed stems, along with any flavoring and sweetener you’re using. Once added, simply stir the mixture while boiling for 15 minutes before taking it off the heat. If you’re using alcohol as a binding agent, you can add the two tablespoons to the mixture once it’s off the heat.

Step 4: Strain The Tea

Now you need to prepare your tea strainer. If you’re using a coffee filter with a frame, excellent, you’re set. If you’re using any type of cloth, all you need to do is lay it over the mouth of a tall jar or container and firmly secure it with string. When you’re ready, simply pour the contents of the saucepan through the filter or cloth and collect the tea as it drips out the bottom.
