Super Boof Grow Diary and Strain Review

Last updated: 27 May 2026

Grow diary hero

This run was built around 6 Super Boof clones from Barney’s Farm. I already had some trust in the genetics, so the plan was pretty direct: give them space, keep the solution in range, and use topping plus a net to control the canopy before the stretch got serious.

The plants started in 30l (7.9gal) pots. I used the same hydro-style routine I’m comfortable with, changing the full solution once a week and checking pH once or twice a day when I could.

Starting the Run

Week 1

The first week was mostly about getting the clones settled and watching the room. Nothing needed forcing yet, so I kept the routine simple and gave the roots time to start working properly.

I like this kind of system because the pH is easier to keep under control, and over the years it hasn’t clogged on me. The finished flowers from this setup have also stayed resinous without that chemical edge in the taste, so I didn’t have much reason to change it here.

Week 2

By the second week, the plants were around 20cm (7.9in) and had started moving better. The main thing I had to correct was humidity. It wouldn’t climb above 50-52%, so I turned on the AC Infinity Cloudforge T7 humidifier and brought it up to about 65% within 10 minutes.

The feed went up as the plants became more active: UC Roots at 0.264ml/l, Coco Cal at 0.264ml/l, Veg A at 0.33ml/l, and Veg B at 0.33ml/l. The fresh solution came out at pH 6.1 and 600ppm.

Week 3

At the start of week 3, I topped all 6 plants. They didn’t stall from it. If anything, the topping pushed them into a better shape, and the canopy changed a lot in just one week.

The plants stopped reaching upward so much and started filling out sideways. Each one had about 4-6 main tops, with a similar number of smaller secondary shoots coming in underneath. The roots looked strong too, so I raised the feed again.

This mix was UC Roots at 0.396ml/l, Coco Cal at 0.33ml/l, Veg A at 0.528ml/l, and Veg B at 0.528ml/l. The solution started at pH 6.1 and 1650ppm.

Veg Progress and Training

Week 4

I didn’t see much point in dragging veg out longer, so week 4 became the switch point. The lights went to 12/12, and I raised the nutrient strength again: UC Roots at 0.396ml/l, Coco Cal at 0.396ml/l, Veg A at 0.726ml/l, and Veg B at 0.726ml/l.

The new solution was pH 6.0 and 1900ppm. I also did a lot of canopy work this week and set the ScrOG net in place. Super Boof answered the flip quickly, so I wanted the branches spread before the stretch took over.

Week 5

The plants were pushing hard now, and the net started doing real work. I kept guiding the tops into open spots instead of letting a few branches dominate the whole space.

This was also the week where flower formation became easier to read. The structure looked promising, but the room needed attention because these clones were clearly not shy about filling the area.

Week 6

Week 6 was heavy on cleanup. I did more defoliation, cleaned the lower growth, and raised the light a little. Based on how Super Boof usually behaves for me, this felt like the last serious stretch week.

The pH was drifting down a bit every day, but regular correction kept it usable. The fresh solution was UC Roots at 0.396ml/l, Coco Cal at 0.396ml/l, Veg A at 0.793ml/l, Veg B at 0.793ml/l, and Bud Booster Mid at 0.396ml/l. It came out at pH 6.1 and 2350ppm.

I added a second net just below the tops to support the future colas. Even before flowering was fully underway, the terpene profile had already started showing up. The tent smelled strongly of orange.

The Flip and Early Flower

Week 7

By week 7, the clones were around 115cm (45.3in) and still looked right on schedule. After three weeks of fast growth following the flip, the fourth week of flowering finally slowed the vertical push.

I kept removing leaves where they blocked light or trapped too much shade under the canopy. The second net helped hold the taller tops where I wanted them, which made the room easier to manage.

Week 8

The run became calmer this week. Instead of trying to reshape everything, I mostly let the plants settle into flower and watched how the tops were filling in.

The orange smell stayed very clear. It wasn’t just a faint note when touching the plants anymore; the whole tent had that citrus-heavy air as soon as it opened.

Week 9

Some extra bending was still needed in week 9. A few tops kept trying to rise above the rest, so I used light LST to bring them back into the canopy rather than cutting more than necessary.

The buds were developing more confidently by this point. I stayed conservative with corrections because the system was mostly doing what I wanted, and the plants didn’t look like they needed any dramatic change.

Late Flower and Finish

Week 10

Week 10 was when the flowers started to look more serious. The tops had stopped chasing height, and the plant energy moved into bud development instead.

I kept the room steady and avoided unnecessary stress. After all the earlier training, the canopy was already set, so there wasn’t much reason to keep interfering.

Week 11

The feed was lowered late in flower. The solution sat around pH 6.0 and 1200ppm, which felt more appropriate once the plants were past the most aggressive part of the run.

The buds had a strong sweet citrus smell, with orange still leading. Resin coverage looked good, and the flowers were much denser than they had been a couple of weeks earlier.

Week 12

The last week was mostly observation. I watched the finish, kept the solution from drifting too far, and let the plants close the cycle without more big changes.

Super Boof didn’t give me much trouble at the end. The main work had been done earlier with topping, defoliation, lollipopping, and the second net. By harvest time, the structure made sense.

Super Boof Yield and Final Thoughts

Super Boof left a strong impression on me. The grow wasn’t complicated, but it still needed regular attention because the plants stretched fast and filled the room aggressively after the flip.

The aroma was the best part of the run for me. It leaned hard into citrus, especially orange, and that smell showed up early enough that I knew the finished flowers would be interesting.

The effect was a cerebral lift with the body staying relaxed underneath. That balance fits the strain well: not flat, not too heavy right away, but still comfortable enough that it doesn’t feel sharp or nervous.

I’d grow Super Boof again without hesitation. It handled topping well, worked nicely under a ScrOG, and the plants stayed productive after all the canopy work. For growers who like citrus-heavy profiles, this one makes a lot of sense.
