Banana Punch Strain Info

Banana Punch comes from a breeder who knows how to make innovative crosses of the world’s most sought-after and respected lines. Containing 55% Indica and 45% Sativa genetics, rest assured that the resulting plant takes the best from both worlds and creates a whole that’s so much more than the sum of its parts.

Genetics

Both parents of Banana Punch – Banana OG and Purple Punch – come from the OG Kush lineage – arguably the most prolific source of modern medicinal hybrids. Both were selected for their outstanding terpene profiles, while Purple Punch also imbues the cross with exquisite purple and orange colors against the vibrant dark-green background.

Flowering Time

Another thing that breeders at Barney’s Farm tirelessly work on is making sure that their strains do their thing in as short a time as possible. With Banana Punch, they’ve managed to bring down the flowering time to 60-65 days, allowing outdoor growers to harvest her by the end of September.

Yields

By selecting the most productive phenotypes and stabilizing the result, the breeder managed to create seeds whose yields are anything but average. Indoors, you can harvest up to 600-650g/m² (2-2.1oz/ft²), while outdoors, the plants are even more generous and bring as much as 1.5kg (3.3lb) each.

Effects

The effects of Banana Punch are strong but in a friendly, unthreatening way. The main theme is an all-pervading relaxation in the body, accompanied by a happy, euphoric sensation in the head. With a mindset like this, you can just kick back and do nothing or let the creative side of you take the wheel.

Medical Properties

As expected from an OG Kush descendant, Banana Punch is equally effective at treating ailments of the body and the mind. The warm-blanket type of relaxation can be soothing for all kinds of aches and pains as well as spasms, while mood-lifting properties may help those suffering from depression, anxiety, and stress.

THC and CBD Levels

Although the manufacturer does not disclose the exact figures, you can expect THC content of over 20%, as well as a hefty presence of CBD.

Smell and Taste

The terpene profile of this delectable strain is dominated by limonene and pinene, with a lesser presence of myrcene and caryophyllene. It’s a minor miracle that these terpenes – which aren’t really that unique in themselves – combine into an aroma of ripe bananas and other juicy fruit growing in the tropics. The taste of smoke is that of earth and sweet and sour citrus fruits.

Grow Tips

Banana Punch is a sturdy strong plant that is completely versatile and adapts to any setup and style of cultivation. Indoor growers will appreciate her manageable height of 110cm (less than 4 feet), while outdoors, you have the luxury of growing an almost 7-foot (200cm) tree with correspondingly bountiful yields.

  • This strain can be grown even in cool climates
  • It performs best as a trained, multi-branch bush
  • Plants will benefit from growers removing popcorn buds from the lowermost third

Banana Punch Seeds

Banana Punch seeds that are available for sale at Herbies are feminized, meaning that practically all of them will grow into female plants and bring you a generous harvest of delectable buds.

Excellent seeds, I'm glad I bought them. Rich indica for indoor growing. It tolerates stress training quite well, very resilient. The branches are covered in buds. The buds have a very good taste and are quite strong, especially after flushing.

Responds well to training techniques, has lots of buds, great quality.
    • Disadvantages
      Non.
    • General impressions

If you work hard during the vegetative phase - feeding, lighting, training - you can get 500-550 grams per square meter. A 9-week flowering period is enough, but if you keep it going for a few more weeks, you get even tastier buds. To me, it tastes like honey, spices, and something tropical, maybe even banana, but not fresh, but already overripe or something like that. At first, it affects your mental state, then your body. The effect is quick and shocking, an unprepared person may start to experience hallucinations and anxiety. So be careful here. Other than that, the strain is absolutely wonderful.

Delicious and with a hybrid effect. Growing was pleasant and easy. The plants grow vigorously, form perfectly, and absorb fertilizers well. All plants are more or less the same and have a high yield. 18 weeks are definitely worth it. Helps to get away from a depressed state of mind, migraines, stress, and melancholy. Improves appetite in general. At the same time, the effect doesn't knock you out, and there are no unpleasant sensations. The dessert fruit flavor is the icing on the cake.

I will definitely be growing her again. She would have grown much better and stronger if I hadn't had a few issues that took a while to resolve. She has purple buds but this phenotype kept the leaves green. I got 28 oz of fresh product from cutting the leaves. I will update as soon as the buds are cured and smoked. Can't wait!

Resistant. Sweet taste, powerful and complex effect.
    • General impressions

The 3 seeds grew into sturdy plants. There aren't many branches, but they're as thick as tree trunks and covered in buds. At the end, the buds are huge and heavy. It has a sweet, earthy taste, reminds me of dried bananas. Not for everyone. The trip itself is definitely for everyone. It stimulates brain activity and relaxes your body. The onset is intense, and the effect lasts a very long time. An ocean of new ideas and creativity. Perfect for stress, pain, cramps. I don't know if it's 26% THC, more like 18-20%

Very good strain, no growing issues. It grew much taller than I usually look for and the yield was nothing special. But everything was world-class. Very dense buds, excellent smell and a shocking sensation with a relaxing effect.

Very good plant, very resistant, with strong growth vigor, lots of resin and the buds are hard as rock and with a great yield. The smell it gave off when cut was sweet, creamy with spicy notes! After drying, the smell became sweeter and creamier, it really reminds me of banana 🍌 A sensational plant overall, I was satisfied in every way, Barneys Farms is top notch!!

    • Advantages
Grows quite well, doesn't stress. Yields 800g per plant. Tasty, strong buds.
    • Disadvantages
How can you prepare it at the end of September, when it's just beginning to bloom? I grew it in a greenhouse; I don't think it's much different from growing it outdoors. Harvest it in November or later.
    • General impressions

Overall, not bad. Not very tall, could stretch it a bit. A superb, lush plant, closer to sativa. The leaves and buds change color, becoming bluish-red. The buds are fat and long, very sativa. Their effect is also very sativa-like. The taste is very good and sweet.

Outdoors, 2 plants. 180 cm tall, like me. Giant colas. Harvested in mid-October. Ideally, it should have been left outside for a few more weeks, but the weather decided otherwise. But there were still 700 grams per plant. The taste and effect are good.

    • General impressions

10/10 for growing and showing, damn, the banana punch has gotten huge but perfect in every way. 3 plants, 2 different results in terms of buds, one has the most amazing colors, copper and the other 2 are dark green with some foxtails but that's because of those. 2 dark green where 140cm tall so sitting close to the light the colas are huge and covered in all the tricomes we can only dream once again of beautiful things
