FAQ
Is it legal to buy cannabis seeds?
The short answer: it depends on where you live. In many countries, cannabis seeds are sold legally as souvenirs or collectibles, but the laws about germination and cultivation can be very different.
That means what’s allowed in one place may not be in another. In some regions, owning seeds is fine, but sprouting them could lead to legal trouble. In others, both purchase and cultivation are tolerated under personal-use rules. Because the situation changes from country to country – and sometimes even from state to state – the best approach is to double-check your local regulations before ordering. This way, you avoid unpleasant surprises later on.
Is it safe to order cannabis seeds online?
Yes, as long as you order from a trusted seed shop. At Herbies, we’ve been shipping seeds safely and discreetly for over 20 years, so we know how to make the process smooth for you. Orders arrive in neutral packaging, with nothing on the outside to hint at what’s inside. To you, it will feel just like buying any other product online.
Still, we understand that first-time buyers often worry about things like customs checks, payment safety, or their privacy. These concerns are normal, and we’ve built our reputation on addressing them. Wondering what exactly we do to protect your order at every step? Check out this article on common fears and how we handle them.
How does payment work?
At checkout, you’ll see the payment methods available for your country. After placing your order, you’ll receive clear payment instructions, so you can complete everything safely and correctly. Please check the details carefully, send the exact amount where required, and keep your payment confirmation just in case.
Once the payment is received, your order is prepared for shipping, and tracking details are sent after dispatch. Herbies currently accepts methods such as card payments, bank transfers, USDT, Bitcoin, and selected cash options depending on the region. You can find more details on the Payment page.
What should I do if my payment didn’t go through?
Don’t worry – most payment issues can be fixed quickly. First, check that your payment details are correct and that your chosen method is available for your country. If it was a card payment, make sure your card supports 3D-Secure and international online payments. If you see a pending transaction after a failed attempt, the money may simply be held by your bank and can take up to 10 business days to be released.
If you’ve already paid but your order hasn’t been confirmed, or if your paid order was cancelled or not shipped, please contact Herbies with your order number and payment confirmation. You can email [email protected], use the live chat, or submit the Guarantee Claim Form if the issue needs formal review.
Do you ship to my country?
To check whether Herbies Seeds ships to your country, use our shipping calculator. If your country is not on the list, it means that we do not ship there at this time.
What does “stealth” mean?
Stealth means discreet shipping. Your package won’t mention Herbies, cannabis, or seeds on the outside – only the essential delivery details. The parcel is designed to look like a regular everyday delivery.
Herbies offers two stealth options. Ninja mode: ON is free and gives you ultra-stealth packaging: seeds are repackaged inside a discreet item. You’ll find more details in the tracking email, so please check the contents carefully when your order arrives.
Ninja mode: OFF means simplified stealth: seeds stay in their original packaging without extra concealment, while the parcel still remains discreet and safely packed.
When needed, seeds may be removed from original breeder packaging and placed into individually labeled bags to protect privacy and security. Pick’n’Mix seeds are also repackaged by Herbies.
Will anyone know what I ordered?
No. Your package will look like a plain, everyday delivery, with no mention of cannabis anywhere on the box or label. Even your mail carrier won’t be able to tell the difference.
Inside, the seeds are carefully protected so they won’t be damaged during transit. If you’ve ever received a small online order – anything from electronics to books – that’s exactly how discreet your delivery will appear.
Where will my order actually ship from?
Worldwide orders are handled through Herbies’ international shipping setup. Herbies is located in Alicante, Spain, and standard global delivery is handled as international shipping. Depending on the destination and selected method, Herbies may ship with carriers such as Correos, UPS, FedEx, DHL, or Tipsa. You can check available options on the Shipping page.
How does tracking work?
Once your order is paid and confirmed, Herbies usually processes and ships it within 24 hours on business days. You’ll receive a tracking number by email after dispatch. Delivery times depend on the destination and shipping method: worldwide orders can take up to 3-4 weeks, UK orders usually arrive within 4-8 days, and European delivery may take around 2-11 days depending on the selected option. You can check estimated times and available methods on the Shipping page.
You can track your parcel on the Tracking page using either your tracking number or your email address plus order number. If the tracking number is “pre-registered,” it has been created but not activated yet – this usually resolves within two days.
Short tracking pauses can be normal, especially during postal overload, holidays, customs checks, or other external delays. As a rule, Herbies’ delivery guarantee applies if a stealth-sent or insured order hasn’t been delivered in more than twice the average shipping time for your destination. If that happens, contact Herbies via [email protected], live chat, or the Guarantee Claim Form.
What if my order doesn’t arrive or gets lost in transit?
It doesn’t happen often, but if a package is delayed or lost, we’ve got you covered. Please contact our support team, and we’ll investigate the issue. Depending on the situation, we’ll either reship your order or issue a refund. Our priority is to ensure you receive what you paid for without hassle. How do bonus seeds work?
Herbies regularly adds free seeds and promo offers to orders. Customers get one free seed with every order, and then receive an extra free seed each time the cart reaches the next bonus threshold. There’s no minimum order amount, but ordering at least £ 17.27 worth of seeds may unlock an extra bonus seed pack. Free seed offers can change, so the best place to check the current bonus is the Promotions page or your cart before checkout.
Selected packs may also include offers like 3+1, 5+2, or 10+4, while other promotions can add free seeds or gifts depending on the current deal. Bonus seeds are a gift from Herbies, but they are not included in the germination guarantee and are not eligible for replacement if they don’t germinate. Promo packs, however, are eligible: for example, a 5+2 pack counts as a 7-seed pack for replacement purposes.
How do I choose a strain and avoid messing up my first grow?
Start with your setup, not just THC. If you’re new, choose beginner-friendly genetics: autoflowers are simple because they flower automatically, while feminized seeds help avoid male plants. Hardy strains like Northern Lights, White Widow, and many autoflowers are good beginner options because they’re forgiving and reliable. You can also browse the beginners’ collection or use the Seed Finder to narrow things down.
To keep the first grow manageable, start small – 2-3 plants is enough to learn without getting overwhelmed. Keep the environment stable, don’t overwater, and change only one thing at a time if something looks off. For germination, keep seeds warm, moist, and dark; most sprout in 1-5 days, though some may take longer. For more help, check the germination guide, Cannabis Basics Guide, and Top 7 Growing Mistakes.
Seeds are living biological material, so small differences in size, color, or shape are normal and don’t automatically mean poor quality. For best results, follow the recommended germination method and store unused seeds properly – in a cool, dry, dark place at a stable 4-6°C. Herbies notes that partner seed banks aim for at least 90% germination, while Herbies Seeds, AlphaFem Seeds, EGS, and Seedkeepers come with an extended 1-year germination guarantee if storage and germination guidelines are followed.
If you need help with germination, seed quality, or a grow issue, contact Herbies via [email protected], live chat, or the Guarantee Claim Form.
What if my seeds don’t germinate?
All seedbanks we work with guarantee maximum germination rates, meaning that at least 90% of the seeds in a pack will germinate. However, cannabis seeds are a biological material and their ability to germinate can be affected by external factors. To achieve the best germination results, we highly recommend using the methods described here and here.
In the unlikely case that the amount of failed seeds exceeds the acceptable level, you can send us a claim and we’ll resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
Extended 1-Year Germination Guarantee
For seeds from Herbies Seeds, AlphaFem Seeds, EGS, and Seedkeepers, we offer an extended 1-year germination guarantee. To maintain seed viability over time, proper storage is essential:
- If you’re not planning to germinate the seeds right away, store them properly to preserve their quality.
- Keep seeds in the refrigerator (not on the door) at a steady 4-6°C (39-43°F), in a dark and dry environment.
If your seeds don’t sprout, contact us right away through our online chat or by email at [email protected].
Please note:
- Our standard germination guarantee is valid for 90 days from purchase for all other seedbanks.
- Promo packs are eligible for replacements. For example, if you buy a 5+2 pack, it counts as a 7-seed pack. However, bonus seeds aren’t included in the germination rate and are not eligible for replacements.
- Once the seed has shown its root, it’s considered germinated.
- The guarantee applies only if our recommended germination methods were followed.
- Photos of the ungerminated seeds are mandatory to be eligible for replacements. We’ll also request information about the germination method and conditions.
- We reserve the right to deny a claim if the previous requirements aren't fulfilled.
If the amount of failed seeds exceeds the acceptable level, don’t hesitate to contact us through our online chat, by email at [email protected] or via our Guarantee Claim Form.
