TH Seeds For Sale: 25 Years In Business And Counting

TH Seeds’ story began in the Netherlands in 1993 with the opening of a seed shop called C.I.A. (Cannabis in Amsterdam). Famous throughout the European weed-smoking community and even mentioned by author Robert C. Clarke as “the epicenter of the cannabis universe”, this store was a source of amazing genetics from the very beginning.

This would-be leader of the cannabis seed market was founded by Adam ‘Sagemasta’ Dunn and his friend, Doug, who prefers to be known to the world by his first name. To describe their philosophy, the guys adopted and slightly changed (arguably for the better) the motto of the US police: “To Protect Genetics and Serve Mankind.” Now, more than a quarter of a century later, they can say with a quiet pride that they’ve fulfilled this promise to the letter.

Prominent At High Times Cannabis Cups

TH Seeds has played an important role in the single biggest annual event for weed enthusiasts worldwide – the famous High Times Cannabis Cup. For decades, it has been the only beacon of freedom in the dark ages of prohibition and every November, drawn huge crowds from all corners of the Earth. TH Seeds, fun-loving people that they are, came up with many diversions for this festival, like the Trichome Bong Hit Challenge and the infamous Weed Leaf Blower of 2005 – the latter probably the biggest hotbox event in weed history.

It’s only fair that TH Seeds walks away with an HTTC award practically every year. But of course, the real reason for this is the unrivaled quality of their strains. Incidentally, it wasn’t always the company itself who entered its own genetics into various international competitions. Sometimes, it was other coffee shops or even ordinary growers presenting dried flowers or hash produced from the company’s seeds that earned them their 15 minutes of fame and a trophy.

TH Seeds products often became the substance of choice for A-list celebrities who came to Amsterdam. The likes of Snoop Dogg, Willy Nelson, Woody Harrelson and others were all blown away by the awesome quality of this weed.

TH Seeds: Best Strains From America Shared With The World

Even the earliest of TH Seeds strains were innovative and featured many traits unheard of at the time. In the 90s, if you scratched any Dutch plant, you would find a Skunk, a Northern Lights or a Shiva – all first-class genetics in their own right, but without much diversity. TH Seeds was among the first seed banks to bring US cannabis heirlooms to the European scene. The first was the legendary Bubblegum, then known as S.A.G.E., or Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium – as in, “you think you grew an Indica, but it smokes like pure Haze”.

Recently, there’s been a second wave of American imports hitting the European genetic pool, and TH Seeds hasn’t failed to ride it. It’s probably the US influence that shines through in such names as Kushage, Strawberry Glue, French Cookies and Chocolate Chunk. Either way, one thing is certain: whether you choose an old-school strain by TH Seeds or a newer one, it will be among the best you can find anywhere.
