Description

Acapulco Gold Strain Info

The Acapulco Gold classic strain is a 30% Indica / 70% Sativa hybrid whose exact genetics are unknown. What’s sure is that it has been backcrossed and stabilized by Barney's Farm through rigorous selection and breeding to create an exquisite-tasting and beloved landrace.

This strain produces a mellow yet euphoric high that induces a sense of creativity, happiness, and relaxation. Like other Sativas, it can elevate your mood and give a much-needed energy boost. The Acapulco Gold feminized strain from Barney's Farm won first place for Best Sativa at the High Times Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam in 2010.

THC Level

The most prominent characteristic of Acapulco Gold is its rather high THC content – one of the most common traits that today’s cultivators are looking for. Even though other strains may be more powerful, you can't deny the potent effects that capture the essence of Acapulco Gold. This strain typically tests at as much as 21% THC, with CBD and CBN levels of 0.7% and 1% respectively.

Effects

Happy
Euphoric
Energetic

The powerful effects of Acapulco Gold will make you crave more and more of it as euphoria settles in. This bud also does wonders in providing relief for those suffering from stress, anxiety, chronic pain, and PTSD. It might be too strong for some users, though, so take it low and slow before going overboard with this one – remember that feeling relaxed doesn't always mean being intoxicated to the point where your muscles tense up!

Terpene Profile

Wood
Fruity
Earth

The terpenes in the Acapulco Gold weed strain are as lively and vibrant as its home country of Mexico. The dominant terpenes include caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene. They all give this strain its sweet, earthy taste that coats the tongue with traces of rich coffee and a woodsy scent.
Acapulco Gold tastes natural from the first puff to the last. With each drag, you'll taste a hint of earthy and pine flavors before ending with an uplifting citrus zest for a smooth, sweet finish.

Growing Acapulco Gold Cannabis Seeds

As a typical Sativa-type marijuana plant, Acapulco Gold strain seeds are usually grown outdoors or in greenhouses. This strain thrives best in warmer climates and sunny conditions. A bit of training will keep it looking neat and tidy indoors with consistent temperature management.

The plants normally reach 3'11 (120 cm) in height but can grow as tall as 6'5 (200 cm) if given the right amount of space while flowering. The buds are long and fat, with orange, red, and gold pistils accompanied by an abundance of crystals.

Flowering Time

The Acapulco Gold marijuana strain has a flowering time of 9-10 weeks when grown indoors. In outdoor grows, you can expect to harvest it by mid-October. This timing depends on the region and climate in which it is cultivated. Outdoor grows usually follow the natural light cycle, with the plants entering the flowering stage as the days become shorter towards the end of summer.

Yields

With Acapulco Gold seeds, you’ll have plants that are highly productive both indoors and outdoors. Indoor yields reach 700 g/m² (2,6 oz/ft²) or 1500 g (3.3 pounds) per plant. Outdoors, Acapulco Gold produces 1500 g (3.3 pounds) per plant.

Acapulco Gold Seeds for Sale

Old school Acapulco Gold feminized seeds are a popular choice among growers looking to cultivate potent and high-quality cannabis plants. These seeds are available in packs of 1, 3, 5 or 10 seeds, providing growers with flexibility in their cultivation options.

One key aspect that makes these seeds so desirable is their excellent germination rate. Germination refers to the process of a seed developing into a new plant, and with Acapulco Gold seeds, growers can expect a high success rate in this stage.

The germination process typically involves the seeds being placed in a suitable environment with the right moisture and temperature conditions to encourage growth. With proper care and attention, these seeds can produce healthy, easy to grow, and robust plants that are known for their distinctive flavors, strong aroma, and potent effects.

Whether you are an experienced grower or just starting out, Acapulco Gold feminized seeds are a great choice for achieving impressive and bountiful yields.

Now onto the serious info this strain is great and cannot disappoint you. It grows steadily at the beginning and explodes when it comes to flowering stage. Responds very well to topping and lst and takes nutes well. I've decided to take this cycle with 1/4 of recommended doses mostly and going only till 1/2 and I think I was on spot. I got a mix of mostly cloudy trichomes and some amber which is OK for me. Smell is very good, a mix of pine, sweet and citrus aromas. Now if you are going for it you got to watch out to control the height, nute doses (especially N) and have a good amount of patience cause it's a slow finisher. Overall highly recommended. Bud reports will come when it's dried and cured. 😁

Very nice plant to grow made a nice yield of this strain now for the dry and cure. The plant's growth was nice solid buds top to bottom. We then did a defoliation and kept some sugar leafs on for the dry process. She turned out 200g of solid bud was fun growing and smoking my fruits of labor.

Harvested at 59 days flower. Perfect feeling and will get better with cure. I would say if you get chance then you should grow this strain. Happy I chose Acapulco Gold for my debut.

First grow has been a success 🤤
Still slightly wet sitting in the jars at 70% plus. Got them in the tent with the dehumidifier on along with carbon filter as the outside humidity is elevated. Smoked a little and even now it’s a great sativa high. I’m glad I harvested when I did as it is more of an up-beat high. Smells amazing too

Acapulco Gold's buds are great as a daytime smoke or as I like with a fresh hot cup of coffee. This sativa will get you moving with a fresh smooth toke. She's strong as well. Not for the novices. With enough thc% to put some pep into your step for 3½-4hrs. A nice easy come down from the long high is likely.
Smells (to me) just like JuicyFruit Gum. With maybe a bit of honey in there too. If you happen to be fortunate enough to have grown this strain then you know what others are missing out on.
    • Disadvantages
      Can cause dry mouth
    • General impressions

Becoming familiar with Barney's Farm and their genetics has been a very fruitful journey.
Acapulco Gold grows well through all stages of growth. Steady defoliation and LST sessions are a must when she's maturing indoors.
She can be a finicky eater as well so maintaining a moderate feeding schedule without going overboard is likely best. Water, water, feed...or lower ppm levels on every other. Either way don't overdo nutes and this Golden Gal' won't have any problems with producing. The plant hasn't disappointed me yet. Good girl 🌱 Making plenty of beautiful and tasty nugs that will make anyone wanting to try Barney's farm Acapulco Gold on their next run.

I love this strain as a day time sativa. It is now in my top 5 favorite sativas for sure. I've grown it several times now indoors and outdoors. Outdoor seems to have better results. My 400W HPS environment provided better indoor results than my dual 300W LED indoor environment. The nugs were much better when grown under the HPS in my particular environment. This strain has always been the first seed to sprout and the most vigorous to grow in comparison to other strains I've grown side by side. I'm currently growing one of these ladies outdoors and she is thriving in the hot Oklahoma summer. You won't regret growing this strain if you like sativas! It responds great to training. The taste is great and the high is just what I want from a sativa. I can smoke a fat joint of this Acapulco Gold and get to work. It doesn't put you on your ass, but instead motivates you for the task at hand. Check out my pic. Instagram.com/JimStash420 if you want to see more.
    • Disadvantages
It likes to stretch and likes it's nitrogen. Also may require branch support in flowering if you're working with small plants with skinny branches. These are not worth deducting a star, however.

Acapulco Gold turned out to be everything I hoped it would be when I was fantasizing about growing it many months ago.
