Pineapple Chunk Strain Info

Pineapple Chunk from Barney’s Farm is an 80% Indica-dominant cannabis hybrid and one of the most hard-hitting strains in their collection. It fully deserves its Indica Cup that it won in 2009. While it’s not the easiest variety to grow, those that master it will be generously rewarded.

Genetics

A cross between Pineapple, Skunk #1, and Cheese, this plant combines many influences and thus has many phenotypes. But don’t worry – with a family tree like this, any pheno will be worth your time and effort.

Effects

The effects are energetic, euphoric, and cerebral at first, followed by a calming, relaxing, and even couch-locked feeling to leave you happily sleepy.

Energetic

THC And CBD Levels

The THC content tests at 25% on average, which means the smoke packs a punch and is also very effective at treating chronic pain and insomnia. The level of CBD is also significant – at 1.1%, this strain can be considered a therapeutic variety.

Smell And Taste

The lavish terpene profile accounts for aromas that are earthy and cheesy, with hints of pineapple. The flavors are sweet and fruity, with cheesy and piney undertones.

Yields

The amount of bud you can harvest depends on your growing skills, the setup, and the phenotype. However, with care and patience, you should be rewarded with around 600g/m² (2oz/ft²) indoors.

Pineapple Chunk Grow Report

Flowering Time

Buds can be ready for harvest in just 8-9 weeks of flowering time, but some plants that lean more to the Sativa side can take longer to mature. According to the breeder, plants grown outdoors finish in late September.

Grow Tips

The strain will generally grow one main big, long cola that goes from top to bottom, but can handle any type of training technique or method you choose. The plant height will be about 90-100cm (3-3.3ft) and will grow hard, dense, large buds that can easily be affected by mold or mildew. Providing a less humid environment during flowering will therefore help to ensure a healthy harvest. The strain can be a bit peculiar and tricky at times, so some experience and knowledge are recommended before planting these seeds.

  • This is a short plant that’s perfect for indoor growing.
  • Perform topping or FIMming for multiple colas and increased yields.

Pineapple Chunk Seeds

Buy these feminized seeds if you want ounces of dank, cheese-smelling buds from every plant in your garden. No stray males will bother you on your way to a top-quality harvest.

I can definitely say this is a very healthy and vigorously growing plant. I started out in the early vegetative cycle where I topped the plant once and then topped all the main side branches once. Then when it was ready, I put it outside and have kept it trimmed it properly throughout all of its vegetative cycle. As you can see it has a ton of bud sites and this is the size of it in my 30-gallon pot. There is about a week or so before it hits flower, It’s huge already I can’t wait to see what it looks like once it hits full flower it’s going to be an absolute monster and there are going to be buds galore everywhere.
    • Disadvantages
Absolutely none, this is a great strain to buy.
    • General impressions

A very stable and vigorously growing plant with no disease or any other type of health issues with it. You will definitely get what you paid for this strain it grows beautifully.

This was a nice grow. I'd like to try this strain again in the spring and see how it reacts to warmer temperatures.
    • Disadvantages
      Can cause dry eyes
    • General impressions

I've been wanting to try a Pineapple Chunk for a long time. I'm really satisfied with this grow. The plant was hardy and fast growing throughout it's life. Stretch was average and the the branches were strong enough to hold the long colas. I did expect the plant to be a little shorter and fatter, considering the leaf structure. Yield was pretty good. I would've liked a little better bud to leaf ration when trimming though.
I've smoked a little bit of this already. I like it in the morning with my espresso.

    • Disadvantages
the pineapple chunk is just a real beauty, and I really did not have any negative experiences with her that weren’t of my own doing. I absolutely recommend it to any outdoor growers out there, who want a hassle free grow, and a few jars of really great bud.
    • General impressions

Pineapple Chunk has been my favourite grow to date, and my very first perfect rating.
I am happy to give Barney’s Pineapple Chunk a perfect 5 because:
      1) Seeds - Perfect. Both germed without issue and and grew at an even pace.
      2) Grow - Again, perfect! Absolutely no problems with pests or mould, despite finishing in very humid conditions. I only needed to top twice
and chunk took a beautiful shape by itself. Really sturdy branches which handled heavy buds in the wind with no need for supports.
For me, the perfect size. Topped out at just over 120cm which is ideal for keeping discreet. So lovely to look at though, big long buds
that stretch for the sky. Beautiful smell, especially in the last week.
I would have to class chunk as the perfect model for the outdoor grow. Perfect size, strong, easy, quick and just unreal.
      3) Buds - Once again,,, perfect. Easy to clean up. She is not at all leafy or shaggy. Chunk is nice and uniform with big fan leaves
that don’t crowd the buds. A few smaller ones down low but overwhelmingly nice big chunks in the end. A great harvest.
My mates are all loving it, and it’s always really satisfying to blow the lads away with some A grade home grown. I highly recommend Pineapple Chunk if you are considering your next outdoor grow, you won’t be disappointed 🍻👍

She grows lots of seed-buds, but they turned into cones only in mid September. The cones are white, but there is no resin!!! I don’t know what to do.. Hope she’ll have enough time to mature outdoors.

Potent buds. A lot of cones. No resin even in the middle of September. A bit weak effect so far. Hope it will be stronger.

    • Advantages
      -A good, strong Indica.
      -Grows well.
    • Disadvantages
      -The yield could be better.
    • General impressions

The strain is good but I doubt that she really tests 25% THC. She’s a potent Indica though. Great for nighttime use - she’ll glue you to couch for 1,5-2h. She grows well - towered up in hydro (27 days of vegetation, 600W HPS). Reached 1,3m tall, so I had to bend her on 5th week of the flowering. Two phenos are absolutely different: one has a more Indica-like, another one is thinner and taller. Nevertheless, they both grew like typical Indicas. The yield could be better but will satisfy those who are not looking for heavy yields. I wish I could chop the promised 650g/sq.m. If you grow her under optimal conditions, she will mature faster than said by the breeder. I cut the first bush on day 54, the second one on day 57 and I think should have chopped them earlier. Luckily, I didn’t wait 9 weeks to harvest her - otherwise I would end up with buds infused with sleepy cannabinol. Btw, the breeder says her flowering time is 50-60 days.
