Pineapple Chunk Strain Info

Pineapple Chunk from Barney’s Farm is an 80% Indica-dominant cannabis hybrid and one of the most hard-hitting strains in their collection. It fully deserves its Indica Cup that it won in 2009. While it’s not the easiest variety to grow, those that master it will be generously rewarded.

Genetics

A cross between Pineapple, Skunk #1, and Cheese, this plant combines many influences and thus has many phenotypes. But don’t worry – with a family tree like this, any pheno will be worth your time and effort.

Effects

The effects are energetic, euphoric, and cerebral at first, followed by a calming, relaxing, and even couch-locked feeling to leave you happily sleepy.

THC And CBD Levels

The THC content tests at 25% on average, which means the smoke packs a punch and is also very effective at treating chronic pain and insomnia. The level of CBD is also significant – at 1.1%, this strain can be considered a therapeutic variety.

Smell And Taste

The lavish terpene profile accounts for aromas that are earthy and cheesy, with hints of pineapple. The flavors are sweet and fruity, with cheesy and piney undertones.

Yields

The amount of bud you can harvest depends on your growing skills, the setup, and the phenotype. However, with care and patience, you should be rewarded with around 600g/m² (2oz/ft²) indoors.

Flowering Time

Buds can be ready for harvest in just 8-9 weeks of flowering time, but some plants that lean more to the Sativa side can take longer to mature. According to the breeder, plants grown outdoors finish in late September.

Grow Tips

The strain will generally grow one main big, long cola that goes from top to bottom, but can handle any type of training technique or method you choose. The plant height will be about 90-100cm (3-3.3ft) and will grow hard, dense, large buds that can easily be affected by mold or mildew. Providing a less humid environment during flowering will therefore help to ensure a healthy harvest. The strain can be a bit peculiar and tricky at times, so some experience and knowledge are recommended before planting these seeds.

  • This is a short plant that’s perfect for indoor growing.
  • Perform topping or FIMming for multiple colas and increased yields.

Pineapple Chunk Seeds

Buy these feminized seeds if you want ounces of dank, cheese-smelling buds from every plant in your garden. No stray males will bother you on your way to a top-quality harvest.

A little tricky to grow, overfed while still in the ground and stunted its growth, but it turned out very tasty :) I'll try it in hydro, will update later

    • Advantages
      Strong and tasty strain
    • Disadvantages
Medium yields indoors, prone to mold outdoors
    • General impressions

Indoors it seems to grow well, but there aren't many buds. It feels fine outdoors. From the end of July I started adding phosphorus and the plants bloomed in mid-August. They finished flowering in the second half of October, but there was mold on a few buds. So overall, there are problems, sure. Indoors, the only problem was the smell. But the result is 2.8 oz vs 7 oz outdoors per plant.
Of course, the ones indoors are stronger and the buds get you higher. At first there's energy followed by vivid inspiration. Outdoor buds are weaker and relax right away
The taste and aroma remind me of winter holidays when it smells like a Christmas tree, a lemon pie and other fruits and sweets

    • Advantages
8.8 oz from one plant. Strong. Flavorful. Easy to grow
    • Disadvantages
      Plants look different
    • General impressions

Outdoors, three seeds planted. Had 2 phenos ,tho the leaves on both plants were wide and dark, one plant was without an obvious central cola and the second had a conical shape. The one with the central cola stretched out to over 4 feet and the one without it to 3 feet. But the branches are still quite thin. Nevertheless, the buds are good. Not super high yield, but okay for me. Powerful stuff. Maybe not 25%, a bit less than that, closer to 20% probably, plus a touch of CBD. The effect is deep, soft and smooth, gradually locking you to the couch
