Kandy Kush Seed Info

Kandy Kush is a plant with a history of being a multiple cup winner. Thanks to her 40% Sativa, 60% Indica profile, she displays both Sativa and Indica characteristics. From renowned breeder Reserva Privada, the fact is that Kandy Kush is a fun and sweet twist on a classic Kush.

Genetics

Kandy Kush is an Indica dominant hybrid whose lineage is a cross between OG Kush and Trainwreck. Her family tree makes her resistant to mold, well-suited to harsher climates, and easy to grow, with nice yields both indoors and outdoors.

Flowering Time

With a flowering time of 63-70 days indoors and late October outdoors, Kandy Kush is not one to be rushed. That said, she rewards growers with a fantastic product in the end.

Yields

Kandy Kush delivers a very good harvest of about 450-550g/m² (1.47-1.8oz/ft2) indoors and up to 500g (1.64oz) per plant outdoors.

Effects

The effects of Kandy Kush are well balanced between the cerebral and a body buzz, reflecting its Sativa and Indica sides respectively. The high starts off uplifting and euphoric before transitioning into relaxing and calming, leaving you hungry and sleepy.

THC Levels

Kandy Kush has a THC content rating of 18.5%. While that’s not extremely high, she tends to feel much more potent than her THC level suggests.

Smell And Taste

Her terpene profile makes Kandy Kush smell strong and pungent, with a combination of lemons and Kush. In other words, she’s very earthy and piney, with flavors that are sweet and candy-like with hints of lemon.

Grow Tips

Most phenotypes of Kandy Kush will grow Indica-dominant, although you may have a few plants in a bunch that display more Sativa-like characteristics. Buds will be dense and hard, covered with sticky resin, and finish in 9 to 10 weeks. Other tips to keep in mind:

  • She prefers colder climates and has good resistance to mold and mildew.
  • The plant grows to short to medium heights of 70-110cm (2’3-3’7) with decent collateral branching.
  • It’s suitable for both indoor and outdoor grows.

Good flavor and very potent too. Potency increased after a 45-50 day cure. Was a little heat sensitive but otherwise pretty easy to grow. Basically had a big pole shape. Next time I'll LST or top her. The buzz for me is pretty balanced head/body, strong and long lasting.

The Good: 1. That taste, that smell. It has this awesome sweet smell that can only be described as fruity—only much more like actual fruit than most “fruity” smells. In fact, it smells a little like fermenting alcohol—but in a good way. 2. The look—impressive bag appeal. It flowers “fat” instead of producing big, long buds. For some reason, they remind me of popcorn balls—remember, you used to get those sometimes for Halloween at lame houses that didn’t give out real candy? Well, they’re kind of shaped like one. The overall look is pretty distinctive and quite pleasant. 3. The high is solid—honestly, nothing special you can’t get from other hybrid strains. My daughter uses it for pain relief—she says all Kush strains work better than opiates.
    • Disadvantages
Cons: 1. Yield is mediocre. I'm not going to set any gram/watt records. Not the lowest yield I've ever seen, but I think it's the lowest yield I've ever grown consistently. 2. Not a fast finisher. This is an indoor finish of about 65 days - maybe even a little longer depending on how you like it.

Kandi Kush is in some ways awesome, in some ways frustrating, but everyone LOVES it. FWIW, Kandi is in my regular mix. If it's for your head, it's worth doing just for the taste and smell.
